Term 4 Week 4

Athletics Day at Grey Lynn Park

On Friday we went to Grey Lynn Park with the whole school for our Athletics day. Luckily it was sunny but we did get one heavy rain shower and we forgot ourselves and screamed and ran into the bushes. We won't do that again!

We played some fun games. One of our favourites was the Chicken Run, everyone has an egg (tennis ball) then we had to run away from the Farmer (Uala) who is chasing us with a hoop. If the farmer catches you he gets your egg for tea.

Later we had the  semi finals for the running races Matilda, Ila, Jaya, Lulu, Jed, Erika, Toby and Sofia were in them.  Lulu and Toby were in the finals, Toby came third in his race.

Term 4 Week 3

Awesome adventure for Room 6.

The first Thursday of the Term the Puriri team went to  the Auckland Zoo. We saw a zebra lying in the sun and one eating some grass. We saw the tiger sleeping in the bamboo he looked camouflaged. Going to the Zoo was great fun.

This is a picture of us at the entrance to the zoo before visiting the giraffes.

We are missing Romiza but happy she is settled at home with her new baby, Izaan.

KIDS CAN COOK KITCHEN

On Thursday we had KIDS CAN COOK KITCHEN with Chris Fortune.
Room 6 thought Chris was very funny and he was a great cook. Ila was our Sous chef and helped Chris make Apple and Silver Beet Crepes. Everyone has different taste buds but most of us enjoyed what Chris and Ila had made and gave them thumbs up!
Enjoy looking at our pictures and visit the websites for recipes.

Arbor Day

On the 5th June it was Arbor Day. Our class got two Nikau trees to plant in the School forest. Dean helped us plant our Nikau trees and we each took turns to help soil around the them.

Room 6 is learning about helping plants survive at Grey Lynn School. We also have our own
vegetable garden in front of our classroom so come and have a look!
